Heating Inspection and Maintenance Procedures

  • Inspect main gas burners
  • Inspect ignition pilot assembly
  • Inspect heat exchanger & combustion chamber for cracks, rusting, and problem areas
  • Lubricate bearings and assemblies
  • Inspect flue assembly and test flue gas drafting mechanism
  • Inspect all furnace safety controls
  • Inspect blower motor, drive mechanism, fan assembly
  • Clean or replace customer-supplied air filter
  • Inspect thermocouple output and pilot safety switch
  • Measure and record electrical voltage, amperage, and component resistance
  • Inspect all system transformers, relays, contactors, and controls
  • Electronically test for harmful carbon monoxide gas
